Born from a rare collaboration between Meleg Perfumes and The Umeno Geisha Tea House of Kamishichiken—Kyoto’s oldest geisha district—this perfume brings to life something that has never existed before:
The world’s first authentic geisha perfume available to the public.
What is Oshiroi?
Oshiroi refers to the soft, white makeup worn by Maiko (apprentice geisha) and Geiko (senior artists). This traditional cosmetic has a delicate, powdery luminosity that symbolizes refinement, elegance, and centuries of Japanese artistry.
The Perfume
Oshiroi is hand-blended in my garden laboratory using pure orris butter—one of the rarest and most precious ingredients in perfumery—and other fine natural materials chosen for their softness, grace, and timeless beauty.
Every bottle is crafted with care, and this inaugural edition is strictly limited to 500 pieces worldwide.

Here my cousins are laying crops into the "apple bin." My wooden perfume box is meant to represent apple bins. Be they rose, vetiver or jasmine farmers. Be they from India, Mexico, Canada or Iran - Meleg Perfumes celebrates farmers and artisans of all nations.

To make this creation truly unforgettable, each bottle holds not only the finest orris butter but also two tiny, ethical diamonds—a subtle yet dazzling detail that reflects the rarity and sophistication of this perfume. Crafted exclusively for the holidays, "Iris de Glace" is a limited edition, with only 500 bottles available worldwide. As a special gesture, those fortunate enough to own this perfume will also receive exclusive first access to "Oshiori," my forthcoming creation which I have created in collaboration with the Maiko and Geisha of Kyoto, Japan.
"Iris de Glace" is a heartfelt ode to orris butter, a material that has captivated me ever since Satori-san, a master perfumer in Tokyo, introduced me to its magic. Soft, buttery, powdery, green, and alluringly mysterious, this ingredient is (believe it or not) actually more precious than the diamonds within. Orris inspires boundless creativity, lending the perfume its cool, powdery elegance.
The fragrance opens with sparkling notes of violets and wintergreen, unfolding into a green, waxy floral bouquet that exudes a quiet sophistication.
