What is Oshiroi?
Oshiroi refers to the soft, white makeup worn by Maiko (apprentice geisha) and Geiko (senior artists). This traditional cosmetic has a delicate, powdery luminosity that symbolizes refinement, elegance, and centuries of Japanese artistry.
The Perfume
Oshiroi is hand-blended in my garden laboratory using pure orris butter—one of the rarest and most precious ingredients in perfumery—and other fine natural materials chosen for their softness, grace, and timeless beauty.
Every bottle is crafted with care, and this inaugural edition is strictly limited to 500 pieces worldwide.

I managed my families "Meleg's Orchard," in a small south Ontario town until I was 25. The orchard started with Sam Meleg, a Slovak from the Provence of Vojvodina, former Kingdom of Serbia of the Austro Hungarian Empire. My work ethic, self deprecating humour and stubborn nature is reflective of my Slovak, peasant roots.
Here my cousins are laying crops into the "apple bin." My wooden perfume box is meant to represent apple bins. Be they rose, vetiver or jasmine farmers. Be they from India, Mexico, Canada or Iran - Meleg Perfumes celebrates farmers and artisans of all nations.
